iComply

During the mid-90s the government of Victoria outsourced most traditional activities (such as cleaning) to the private sector. Whilst this achieved a reduction in operating costs for agencies, many departments experienced lack of internal controls over third party providers (OH&S, QA etc) to adequately monitor their compliance and performance outcomes.

This was the time that Paul and Cindy Molenaar were looking to start their own business to gain leverage from their studies and maximize their professional experience. In June 2000 they commenced NEIS training with The Chisholm Institute and their business "iComply" which specializes in compliance auditing and risk management consultancy was born.

"Whilst I was technically competent in governance systems, it became apparent to me that even though I had completed a degree in business management I was not adequately skilled to run a business in a very tough operating environment," said Paul. "The NEIS program provided us with a level of financial assistance and helped us to prepare a detailed business plan and set a very clear path of which we had to take in order to survive."

And survive they did. Following September 11 there was a spate of corporate collapses leading to increased insurance pressures and before they knew it, iComply was providing professional advice and technology to Australia's largest corporate companies, including Coca Cola Amatil and ADI. These companies continue to seek iComply's expertise in managing the completities of global compliance, particularly seeking external verification that their business management systems are compliant with legislation etc.

iComply has identified and aligned itself with Microsoft (Gold Partner) and has recently been nominated for Global Business Award for most innovative Mobility Solution Worldwide.
