New Enterprise Incentive Scheme Training

In keeping with the Government’s determination to assist NEIS businesses that will operate in areas of Skills Shortages, NEIS training is offered through the Productivity Places Program (PPP).  Two courses are offered, Certificate IV in Business (BSB40407) and Certificate III in Micro Business (BSB30307).  Your NEIS Panel member will advise you on the most appropriate course for your needs, after you have been referred to NEIS by your Job Services Australia Provider.

Who delivers the training?

Training is delivered by Registered Training Organizations that hold a special contract for the delivery of NEIS PPP training.  These may include educational institutions and private providers. You can only be enrolled in NEIS PPP training by a NEIS Panel Member.  Most NEIS Panel Members are also Registered Training Organizations contracted to deliver PPP NEIS training.  Entry to NEIS is by successful completion of your PPP NEIS course.  If you already hold the required certificate, you cannot be accepted into PPP NEIS training to do it again.

What is taught?

A key outcome of the training is the production of a business plan based on market research, which is used to assess whether applicants should proceed onto NEIS Allowance.
The NEIS training curriculum covers:
• Business Planning
• Small Business Law and Taxation
• Marketing
• Pricing, Costing and Break Even
• Finance and Performance Indicators
• Operations Plan
• Record Keeping
