NEIS is DEEWR's most successful labour market program. Post program monitoring figures show that 3 months after completing NEIS (about 15 months after starting the business), 84% of participants are on unsubsidised employment and 12 months after completing NEIS (about 2 years after starting the business), 82% of participants are in unsubsidised employment or training. NEIS also creates secondary employment. For every 10 NEIS businesses, on average, a further 8 new jobs are created.
